St. Paul (May 21, 2007) – The Minnesota Natural Legacy Campaign (MNLC) applauds Senator Norm Coleman for announcing his support for legislation that will create a national cap and trade system to combat global warming.

“We applaud Sen. Coleman's leadership on this issue, and for setting an example for other senators to follow," said Kelly Scanlan, Director of the MNLC. "This is great for Minnesota, and great for the effort to solve climate change. Supporting a cap and trade system will not only protect our environment, but create economic opportunities for workers and businesses across Minnesota.”

Minnesota Natural Legacy Campaign is a group of concerned citizens who recognize that human activities are changing the Earth’s climate in a way that threatens the state’s natural heritage, economy, and quality of life.
